The Vibrations of Time installation brightened up the space of the Vezha. Mistechko Pidzamche Residential Complex in Lviv
In Lviv, on the premises of the Vezha. Mistechko Pidzamche Residential Complex, a new Vibrations of Time sculpture was installed as part of the Lviv Sculpture Week 2024. The author of the work is a famous artist Oleh Putrashyk, who through his work conveys the impact of contemporary events on a person, reflecting the “vibrations of time” that shape our consciousness and respond to the changing world.
The Vibrations of Time sculpture is a new point of reflection, inviting viewers to think about how time and defining events affect our lives. It is not only striking in its form, but also inspires a rethinking of memory and its importance in society. This work is a part of the overall concept of the Week called “Trace of Memory”, which emphasizes the importance of art in shaping cultural and collective memory.
The event is curated by renowned art critic Pavlo Hudymov and supported by Lviv Mayor Andrii Sadovyi. The Vibrations of Time sculpture was installed thanks to the active participation of RIEL, which provided funding for the production, logistics and other related costs, as well as assistance in organizing the installation.
This year’s Lviv Sculpture Week continues to raise the issue of interaction between art and society, focusing on the theme of memory. The main focus of the event is to rethink the role of memorials, cemeteries and other places of memory, which are gaining new relevance against the backdrop of contemporary events. The event stimulates dialogue and the search for innovative artistic approaches that can resonate with both creative circles and the general public.
The Lviv Sculpture Week creates a unique space for reflection, dialogue and inspiration, combining contemporary art with history and giving new meaning to memory.
